A Fond Farewell to Cedar Point's Monster

  Cedar Point has put its Monster to rest. Referring to the iconic ride at the Ohio theme park, Tony Clark, communications director for Cedar Point and Kings Island, explained it simply: “Monster has been permanently removed from our Cedar Fair ride lineup. It has reached the end of its serviceable life, as replacement parts are challenging to locate. It will not be relocated, and there are no plans for the site.”The classic ride featured six bright, cheerful arms, each holding four cars with a capacity of two riders per car. The attraction lifted riders up and down while spinning rapidly. Hersheypark Brawl Highlights Growing Challenge of Teen Takeovers

  On the evening of April 3, during Hersheypark's opening day for its 120th season, a large brawl broke out that ultimately led to charges against 55 people. Those charged ranged in age from 12 to 19. The charges included misdemeanor and felony offenses such as disorderly conduct, simple assault, conspiracy, aggravated assault, theft, failure to disperse, and riot, according to Pennsylvania's Derry Township Police Department. Only three of those arrested were adults.Hersheypark Safety & Security initially requested assistance from local police after multiple fights broke out among groups of teenagers inside the park. Although only three individuals were arrested that evening, investigators identified and charged 52 additional suspects during the following month.
