Amusement Industry Denounced Inaccurate Stereotypes in AT&T Commercial

Inaccurate Ad Targeting Industry Does Not Meet AT&T Core Values

On March 29, 2019, the Department of Homeland Security announced the release of an additional 30,000 H-2B Visas as given discretionary authority by congress in the 2019 appropriations bill.  To qualify, a H-2B worker must have possessed a H-2B visa one of the last three years (2016-2018), limiting eligibility to only returning workers.  The release of 30,000 additional visas was an increase of 15,000 visas as compared to what was released in 2018.Three weeks later, DHS has yet to make a formal announcement regarding the filing rule that contains the procedures, processing timelines, and an estimate start date for workers.  In previous years, the announcement came within a week of the initial announcement regarding the release.Last week, an industry letter was delivered to senior White House officials asking the Trump Administration to publish the rule.  The Seasonal Employment Alliance is hoping that the letter spurs them into action. The Seasonal Employment ...   [read more]

On Sunday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen announced that she would be resigning from her position as DHS Secretary.  According to the Seasonal Employment Alliance, Nielsen's resignation should not impact the Administrations decision to release an additional 30,000 H-2B visas.  The decision to release the visas was made in coordination with Nielsen and senior White House officials and not solely the decision of Nielsen.  As of today, an official announcement outlining the filing instructions and a timeframe for the additional 30,000 H-2B visas has yet to be announced.H-2B Rally Took Place Tuesday, April 9 in Washington DCThe SEA organized a #saveH2b rally on the steps of the capitol building in Washington DC to show support for the H-2B program and encourage congress to pass permanent cap relief.  Attendance was strong with hundreds of seasonal business owners and supporters including ten members of congress including: Rep.
