IAAPA 2025: Preston & Barbieri Highlights Hyper Jump XXXL and New Developments
The Mega Kangaroo XXXL
Italian ride manufacturer Preston & Barbieri was positioned along the South Concourse wall of the Orange County Convention Center. While the company did not display any full-size rides at the IAAPA Show, its booth featured models and visuals of several top-selling attractions, including the Hyper Jump, the Wave Swinger, and a double-deck Carousel.
Company president Francesco Ferrari reported a strong start to the show, noting that several potential buyers had visited throughout the week. Preston & Barbieri, which supplies to both permanent amusement parks and traveling showmen, currently has three prospective Hyper Jump XXXL sales pending with U.S. operators. Approximately 30% of the company's business comes from traveling showmen, while the remaining 70% serves fixed amusement park installations.
The Hyper Jump XXXL—also known as the Mega Kangaroo XXXL—has stirred excitement across Europe. The ride accommodates 42 passengers and operates with two 75 kV air compressors. Despite its impressive scale, the attraction is transport-friendly, requiring just 1.5 semi-trailers.

Compared with other Hyper Jump-style attractions, the Mega Kangaroo XXXL is considered not only the fastest but also the most powerful of its category. The updated version generates a striking 5.6 g-force, an increase from the standard model's 4 g. “The arms raise higher in the air than the others,” Ferrari explained.
The first Mega Kangaroo XXXL was delivered to a showman in Spain, and two additional units are on order—one for a German showman and another for a second Spanish operator. Additional deals are in progress for potential deliveries to Mexico and the United Kingdom. Ferrari expressed optimism about introducing the attraction to the United States as more contracts move toward completion.
Ferrari also announced that a new portable Wave Swinger is scheduled for delivery to Davis Shows Northwest in spring 2026. The attraction is built on a single trailer and accommodates 56 passengers per cycle. Preston & Barbieri has previously delivered several Wave Swingers to U.S. operators, including Deggeller Attractions, North American Midway Entertainment, and Ray Cammack Shows.
Additionally, the company will deliver a new roller coaster to Fun-Plex Waterpark in Omaha, Nebraska this February.
After IAAPA, Ferrari looks forward to returning to the IISF Trade Show in Gibtown this February, continuing to engage with customers and showcase the company's expanding product lineup.
