New Rides Debut at Utah's Lagoon Amusement Park in 2025
Steamworkx made its Debut at Lagoon Amusement Park in 2025
Lagoon amusement park in Farmington, Utah, is welcoming guests with new rides for the 2025 season.
Located in The District, a revamped area of the park within the iconic Pioneer Village section, are two new attractions: Time Tinker, a Nebulaz ride from Italy's Zamperla, and Steamworx, an exciting Wild Swing ride from ART engineering.
Both are family fun, custom themed to The District. Time Tinker has a steam punk aesthetic, which Zamperla's sales director, Ramon Rosario, describes “an attractions [designed to) bring energy to a quiet area of the property and engage a wide variety of riders.”
According to Rosario, the Nebulaz can fit just about any theme, as Zamperla has made “more custom designs than standard ones.”

The ride has a minimum height requirement of 42” and is both thrilling and geared to families of all ages. Rosario stresses that the attraction “really hits the sweet spot of being fun for families but also rewarding for thrill-seekers” with its rotating arms and vibrating gyration. Bystanders enjoy just watching it, while riders share their experiences of fun and fast-moving thrills.
Zamperla's artistic team worked along with Lagoon to create the unique aesthetic of the ride, from color scheme to sleek lines and what Rosario calls a “hyper-vintage feel.”
It features an exposed mechanical system that fits the look of The District, with its retro-futurism and steampunk design.
Like the Time Tinker, Steamworkx cuts a significant swath through multi-demographic appeal. The height requirement for the sweeping Wild Swing ride is a family-friendly 36”. Carrying 16 passengers at a time, this ride too, is designed with a steampunk look in its detailing. The swing moves in both directions, taking guests up and over, but never upside down. The gondola car rocks with motion, but the ride stays solidly in the mid-level range for thrilling experiences.
George Behringer, CEO at ART Engineering, asserts that the ride's size, and motion filled, but not overly aggressive movements, combine to create a strong family attraction. Superior seat restraints also adds to the appeal of the ride as a family-friendly one.
“The combination…results in a great family attraction” Behringer says. With the small footprint and good theming options, the exciting swing is “a perfect ride for all amusement parks,” he relates.
The ride is making its U.S. installation debut, replete with its sleekly themed look, as a perfect fit for the new area of Lagoon.
Behringer explains that the ride was customized, “We have adapted the ride with a dark base color and customized mechanical applications in golden and copper colors,” he says, calling the theming result a “perfect match for this area of the park.”
Lagoon Park spokesperson Adam Leishman concurs, noting that Utah is the home of many large families, which makes a family-friendly ride a must. “Family rides have been a big hit with our guests,” he stresses.

Along with the steampunk theme for the new rides, he notes that the park also rethemed “our children's helicopter ride from 1963,” terming the re-do “an easy decision.” The kiddie copter was rethemed to that of Rivets and Rotors, complementing the area's steampunk world.
The District is located within Pioneer Village at Lagoon, a “recreation of a frontier town,” including actually authentic structures from the mid-1800s, which is also the time frame of steampunk, making the newly rethemed steampunk area a perfect fit. He adds that Pioneer Village itself is “celebrating its 50th year in 2026.” It contains over 42 buildings, and has charming wooden boardwalks for guests exploring them.
According to Lagoon's press release material, The District speaks to a world where “inventors are revered, and their creations come alive” in a bevy of sound – steam, grinding gears, clanks, and whistles – as well as in visual excitement.
There's more that's new in Pioneer Village besides The District area encased within it. The Snakebite Saloon, once a Bonanza shooting gallery, according to Leishman, is now offering food and beverage options as well as merchandise, with an antique-filled look that Leishman describes as “part speakeasy, part general store, it's a great place to sit and enjoy refreshments…”
Outside Pioneer Village, there's also a new addition to Lagoon's central midway area, Peacock Parlour. Once the Carousel Candy Shop as well as housing mini bumper cars, the building was gutted by a fire back in 2021. Now rebuilt, the structure is repurposed and redesigned, and named after the peacocks which roam throughout the park, according to Julie Freed, director of special events. She lauds the building's “one-of-a-kind stained glass made in Italy, the Grand Entrance and all of the feather motifs.” There is also an airy atrium in the venue which allows seating for over 200 guests.
And those guests are steadily perched inside, as the Parlour offers ice cream and gelato in a wide variety of flavors from banana cream to chocolate mascarpone and regional favorites like bilberry. There are many specialty treats including the Peacock Punch and a special Peacock Sundae with lime and huckleberry flavors, or the richly chocolate Brownies on the Moon.
Part of the bright blue and mint green ice cream shop is still a candy sweet spot, the revamped Carousel Candy, featuring rooftop lollipops.
Originally called Lake Park, Lagoon opened in its present location along the shores of Salt Lake back in 1886. Today, it houses a beach, rides, games, shows, Pioneer Village, and come September, Frightmares, the park's signature Halloween haunt event. Single day tickets to the park are $94.95.
